Establish task zones and responsibilities
Divide the room down the middle or assign distinct tasks such as floors versus surfaces. Set a visual timer on a desk or dresser where both participants can monitor progress.

Clear trash and recyclables
Carry a heavy-duty trash bag through the room and collect all food wrappers, empty containers, and loose paper. Check under beds, behind desks, and along nightstand corners.

Sort and bin all clothing
