๐ Step-by-Step Guide (5 Steps)
Trash Blitz
Open a trash bag and walk in a single continuous circle around the room. Grab all visible trash, food wrappers, empty bottles, and scrap paper off surfaces and the floor. Toss everything directly into the bag without stopping to sort.
- โข No wrappers, empty cups, or loose paper visible on nightstands, desk, or floor.
- โข Stopping to read old papers or sorting recyclables individually during the speed run.
Laundry Sweep
Carry the laundry hamper along the same perimeter path. Scoop up all dirty clothes, socks, and towels from the floor, chairs, and bed. Deposit them directly into the hamper.
- โข Carpet and floor completely free of garments, socks, and stray fabrics.
- โข Attempting to fold clean clothes instead of isolating dirty laundry first.
Rapid Bed Reset
Stand at the foot of the bed and pull the top sheet and duvet up toward the headboard in one snapping pull. Straighten the edges along both sides and prop the pillows upright against the headboard.
- โข Comforter pulled flat with minimal wrinkles and pillows aligned against headboard.
- โข Fussing over hospital corners or tucking bottom sheets during a speed clean.
Surface De-clutter into Drop Bin
Sweep stray items like chargers, books, makeup, and pens from open desk surfaces and nightstands into a catch-all bin. Place the full bin out of sight in a closet or under the bed for later categorization.
- โข Desk and nightstand tops visibly clear with only lamps or monitors remaining.
- โข Trying to find the permanent home for each small knick-knack.
High-Touch Surface Wipe and Scent Reset
Take a single multi-surface wipe and quickly glide it over the cleared nightstand and desk center. Finish with one spritz of room freshener toward the center of the room.
- โข Desktops free of dust streaks; wipe and trash disposed into the main bag.
- โข Over-saturating surfaces with liquid spray that requires extended drying time.
