๐ Step-by-Step Guide (6 Steps)
Clear clutter and apply dwell products
Remove bath mats, shower bottles, toothbrushes, and wastebaskets to clear all surfaces. Squirt toilet bowl cleaner under the rim and coat shower walls/tub with limescale cleaner. Allow products to dwell undisturbed for 5-10 minutes to break down grime chemically.
- โข Counters and shower ledges are completely empty
- โข Visible blue or colored gel lining the inside rim of the toilet bowl
- โข Scrubbing immediately after spraying without allowing dwell time
- โข Leaving bottles in place and cleaning around them
Dust and wipe high fixtures to baseboards
Using a dry microfiber cloth or duster, sweep over lighting fixtures, exhaust fan vents, and the top of the mirror. Work downward along door frames and baseboards to catch dry dust before wet cleaning begins. Avoid wetting dry dust to prevent muddy streaks.
- โข Light fixtures and baseboards show no visible grey dust edges
- โข Microfiber duster shows collected dust debris
- โข Using a damp cloth on heavy dust, creating smears
- โข Dusting after spraying liquids below
Scrub shower tiles, glass, and tub
Use a non-scratch sponge to agitate the soaked shower walls, working in circular motions from top to bottom. Scrub the grout lines and faucet hardware with a detail brush. Rinse thoroughly with warm water from the showerhead and pull a squeegee down glass panels.
- โข Tiles and shower screen are completely rinsed and free of foam
- โข Glass is squeegeed clear without water beads
- โข Using abrasive pads that scratch acrylic tubs or glass coatings
- โข Leaving rinse water to air dry on glass, creating hard water spots
Sanitize sink basin and polish mirrors
Spray sink basin and countertop with all-purpose bathroom cleaner and wipe down with a dedicated microfiber cloth. Polish the mirror with glass cleaner and a fresh, dry microfiber cloth using 'S'-pattern strokes. Buff the faucet base with a dry towel for shine.
- โข Mirror shows zero lint, haze, or swipe marks
- โข Sink drain and faucet base are free of toothpaste splatter
- โข Using the same cloth on the mirror that was used with soap on the sink
- โข Spraying cleaner directly onto electrical outlets near mirrors
Deep clean and disinfect toilet
Scrub the toilet bowl interior using the toilet brush, paying extra attention to under the rim and the water trap. Spray disinfectant on the handle, tank lid, seat, and exterior base, then wipe down with paper towels or a designated toilet-only microfiber cloth. Flush to rinse bowl.
- โข Toilet bowl water is clear with no ring marks
- โข Seat hinges, handle, and base porcelain are dry and dust-free
- โข Using toilet cleaning cloths on the countertop or sink afterwards
- โข Wiping disinfectant immediately before it reaches required contact time
Mop floors working toward the exit
Sweep or vacuum any remaining loose hair and floor debris. Dampen an extendable flat mop with diluted floor cleaner and mop the floor in overlapping passes, starting from the furthest corner and working backwards toward the doorway. Allow floor to air dry fully.
- โข Floor surface has an even, thin sheen of moisture with no hair clumps
- โข Cleaner has completely exited the room without stepping back onto wet floor
- โข Backing into a corner with the mop, leaving shoe prints to escape
- โข Using an overly saturated mop pad that leaves puddles
