๐ Step-by-Step Guide (5 Steps)
Apply Bowl Cleaner to Interior
Don rubber gloves and angle the nozzle of the toilet bowl cleaner directly under the rim. Squeeze firmly while tracing a full 360-degree circle around the perimeter so the gel coats the entire bowl. Leave the cleaner to dwell while you clean the exterior.
- โข A continuous colored ring of gel coats the porcelain beneath the rim and drips toward the water line.
- โข Squirting cleaner directly into standing water instead of up under the rim.
Mist Exterior with Disinfectant
Spray disinfectant starting at the top of the tank and working down. Cover the flush handle, outer tank, lid (both sides), seat (both sides), porcelain bowl rim, and the pedestal base.
- โข A fine, even mist of cleaning spray covers all outer porcelain and plastic surfaces.
- โข Missing high-touch areas like the flush handle or the underside of the seat.
Wipe Exterior from Top to Bottom
Fold your microfiber cloth into quarters. Wipe the flush handle and tank top first, then flip to a clean fold and wipe the tank sides, lid, top of seat, underside of seat, and finally the base.
- โข Exterior surfaces are dry, streak-free, and free of dust or hair.
- โข Using the same dirty cloth face from the bottom base to wipe the seat or handle.
Scrub the Bowl Interior
Take the toilet brush and scrub vigorously under the rim where cleaner was applied. Work your way down the bowl walls in circular motions, then push the brush into the bottom trapway to scrub the exit hole.
- โข Active foam filling the bowl water and all visible waterlines and stains removed.
- โข Failing to push the bristles up into the hidden underside of the rim.
Flush and Drip-Dry Brush
Press the flush handle to empty the bowl. Hold the toilet brush head directly in the rushing water stream to rinse off cleaner and debris, then sandwich the brush handle under the closed toilet seat so the head drips into the bowl to dry.
- โข Clear water in the flushed bowl and the brush suspended horizontally over the water line to dry.
- โข Putting a soaking wet toilet brush directly back into its holder, breeding bacteria.
